Back in the last year, Oppo unveiled the Oppo A58 5G with mid-range specifications and affordable pricing. It serves well on its purpose of offering 5G connectivity at a lower price. However, Oppo realized the need for a cheaper variant with 4G connectivity. For some users, 5G is not a thing yet, therefore a 4G smartphone is still enough. For these users, Oppo is presenting a new variant dubbed Oppo A58 4G.

The new Oppo A58 4G is landing in Indonesia and is already up for grabs at IDR 2,500,00 ($165/€150). The shipments will begin as soon as July 28 (Next Friday). The phone sells in Dazzling Green and Glowing Black and the overall design remains unchanged.

Oppo A58 4G Specifications and Features
The Oppo A58 4G design is pretty similar to the 5G variant. There are some subtle changes like a punch-hole camera and a larger display, but the design language is essentially the same. The 4G variant flaunts a Full HD+ panel with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels of resolution. It also has a 20:9 aspect ratio, but the refresh rate is now lower at 90 Hz. The users will still benefit from faster input with a 180 Hz touch sampling rate. The device has 100% coverage of DCI-P3 and sRGB. The phone’s typical brightness is 550 nits and its max is 680 nits.

MediaTek Helio G85 Gives Power To the 4G Variant
As for the chipset, the Oppo A58 4G ditches the Dimensity 700 (5G) for a variant with the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC. The phone is paired with 6 GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. The 5G model was capped at 1080p @ 30fps video recording. The phone has a 8 MP selfie shooter which should be enough for modest selfies and video-calls. Moving around to the back, we have a simple dual-camera setup. It is headlined by a 50 MP camera with an f/1.8 lens and 75.5 degrees of Field of View. There is also a 2 MP depth sensor for the bokeh effect on portrait shots.

The new Oppo A58 4G is 8mm thick and has 192 grams of weight, being heavier than the 5G variant. The phone keeps the 5,000 mAh battery from the 5G variant and charges fast thanks to 33W SuperVOOC Charging. It’s interesting to see that a budget device can charge faster than some premium smartphones.

The phone also has a microSD card slot, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and stereo speakers. There is also a fingerprint scanner mounted on the side of the phone. The body is rated IPX4 for resistance against water splashes. The Oppo A58 4G is selling via the Oppo Indonesia website. It will also be available in the Brick and Mortar stores, starting in early August. The phone sells for the aforementioned price of about $165.
