Oppo is well known for its premium smartphones with blazing fast charging speeds. However, the company keeps a solid presence in the mid-range and low-end smartphone categories. Last year, the company presented an interesting phone dubbed Oppo A1. The device had decent specifications at an affordable price ratio. Now, Oppo is preparing a sequel for the smartphone dubbed Oppo A2. This new smartphone passed the TENAA certification. Judging by the listing we are up for a very interesting mid-range smartphone!

Oppo A2 – First Details Have Been Revealed – A mid-range phone with an OLED display
The Oppo A1 was a decent smartphone with a 6.72-inch IPS LCD screen and 5G Connectivity with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695. According to TENAA, the Oppo A2 will raise the bar on the specifications. The new handset passed by the listing with the model number PJG110. The listing also confirms some of the phone’s key specifications ahead of the launch.
The Oppo A2 carries the codename Givenchy and will pack a gorgeous 6.7-inch OLED display. The inclusion of OLED is what makes this phone stand out in comparison to its predecessor. The panel has a Full HD+ resolution with 2,412 x 1,080 pixels. The device will also bring a 2,160Hz PWM dimming support and will have curved edges. We are also looking at a triple-camera smartphone. The details on this camera are still unclear, but we expect a 50 MP main camera coupled with two additional sensors. The A1 has just two cameras with a primary 50 MP unit and a 2 MP secondary lens. The Oppo A2 will have a circular camera island with three sensors and a LED flash. The power buttons are on the right edge of the smartphone.

The Oppo A2 will also be decent for those who seek endurance on smartphones! Well, the TENNA listing confirms it will pack a 4,870 mAh battery. Usually, companies tend to list the phone with the rated capacity, if this is the rated capacity, we are probably looking at a 5,000 mAh typical capacity. That would be on par with the Oppo A1 which had the same capacity.

TENAA will be updated soon with more details regarding the processor and RAM amount. To recall, the OPPO A1 had the Snapdragon 695 with up to 12 GB of RAM. It was one of the few mid-range smartphones to offer such RAM amount. The Oppo A2 will likely keep this standard, but we are hoping for a good upgrade in terms of processing power. The Snapdragon 695 is a bit old at this point, and it would be great to see a more powerful chipset for the A2.

There is still no word regarding the launch date of the Oppo A2, but stay tuned for more details. The fact that the phone has been certified means that a launch is drawing near.
