Updated: Jul 27, 2023 8:00 pm Table of Contents Table of Contents Madden 24 is coming out soon and like most video games today, much of it is Internet-based. Several modes within the latest release from EA Sports have the ability to play with other players across the world and link up with their games. Whether it’s head-to-head or in a connected franchise, the Internet is vital.  If players do not have Internet or it faces outages or server issues, some games provide little to no alternative options to continue playing without connection. Is that the case for Madden 24?  If you’re interested in reading more about Madden NFL 24 ahead of the release date in August, check out the full list of game modes, what the top 10 tight ends are, and how to be granted Early Access.  Is Madden 24 offline? Yes, there are game modes within Madden 24 that can be played offline. Some modes will not allow this. For example, Superstar Showdown is a mode on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and it requires other players (and can be crossplay), therefore it cannot be offline.  However, local head-to-head (or against the CPU) can be done offline. Franchise mode, presuming it’s not a connected franchise with another player (this is specified at the creation of the file), can be played offline as well.  Training and the new mini-games do not require an Internet connection, either. Superstar The League, conversely, is not online. You can play what is effectively the created player mode without connection as well.  If the Internet goes out or you don’t have access, the game is not totally unplayable. However, you will be missing out on some aspects. Madden Ultimate Team is a very popular mode, but it is completely reliant on a strong connection.  For the most part, the gameplay remains the same offline. As long as the mode doesn’t require the Internet, it will stay the same on or offline. This is the same in both editions. Superstar Showdown Showdown, on the other hand, is an online mode. This allows players to use their avatars in 3v3 games with other players through the Internet. This, again, is subject to the cross-play rules, so Xbox One gamers will have to play with their own console. The same is true for PlayStation 4 players. The latter two game modes are next-gen only. In their place on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is Face of the Franchise, which is more or less like Franchise Mode with your created player, and The Yard.  The Yard is like street football with a much smaller field and is more arcade-like in nature. Both editions of the game will have new mini-games as well as the ability to practice.
